There are some times when the disks that at the beginning you thought were enormous finally get filled. Disk Space Fan can help you save disk space by finding and removing duplicate files. In addition, it can show you statistics related to disk usage so that you can make appropriate decisions.
This program has a modern neat interface with a minimalistic design, which helps the users feel confident. Using it is very easy, but if you have any doubts, you can always consult its excellent online help. With only a few buttons, you will have a powerful set of actions at your disposal. When you open this application, it will automatically list your system drives. By just clicking on a drive name, it will show a pie graphic about general disk usage percentages. Then, if you select Scan, the program will generate a report to show disk usage, but this time according to folder and file size. What is interesting about this report is that it will take a form of a ringchart, a series of nested rings around a central circle, where each level represents a directory level. This can help you make the best decisions regarding what files to erase to recover space. Additionally, if you select Duplicates, you will find a list of clone files on your disk. You can manually review the list and check the files you want to eliminate from your disk, but you can also let the program automatically select the duplicates to delete and even leave shortcuts to the remaining files instead. In this regard, I would have liked the program to use file-type filters more easily.
In general terms, Disk Space Fan is an excellent user-friendly application that can be very useful to any type of user. Using this program, I was able to recover 1.8 Gb from My Music folder by deleting duplicate files that I did not even know were there.
